Materials Science and Engineering

In the 21st century, polymer materials go beyond being recognized as general-purpose plastic materials, and promising cutting-edge core sources of the future developed in information technology (IT), biotechnology (BT), and nanotechnology (NT). In accordance with these trends in the 4th Industrial Revolution era, our department provides curricula based on convergence technology that blends polymer science and engineering with IT, BT, and NT in order to cultivate creative and global competence. In addition, by leading focused researches in the field of information- and bio- hybrid nanomaterials, we have established excellent research facilities, thereby achieving top-class scientific achievements. Furthermore, through exchange programs in various universities and government institutes in China, Japan, Germany, France, Austria, USA, and Canada, the students can meet leading scientists and obtain deep knowledge in polymer science and engineering. We also provide the opportunity for students to perform vocational training at companies  which are worked for the polymer technologies in Daeduk Research Complex.
